Meanwhile, Nufarm Ltd (ASX:) added 7.60% or 0.37 points to end at 5.24 and Silver Lake Resources Ltd (ASX:) was up 7.46% or 0.100 points to 1.440 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were News Corp B DRC (ASX:), which fell 3.76% or 1.15 points to trade at 29.40 at the close. Domain Holdings Australia Ltd (ASX:) declined 3.64% or 0.17 points to end at 4.50 and Deterra Royalties Ltd (ASX:) was down 3.56% or 0.16 points to 4.33.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 685 to 649 and 378 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 4.31% to 16.524.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.04% or 0.75 to $1732.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.33% or 0.20 to hit $59.95 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.40% or 0.25 to trade at $62.95 a barrel.
AUD/USD was up 0.19% to 0.7833, while AUD/JPY rose 0.32% to 83.67.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 90.707.
