MTC’s One-Minute Radio Theatre
Take a minute every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 8 p.m. (through Oct. 22) to enjoy 60 seconds of theatrical fun on KZYX radio station. Mendocino Theatre Company’s One-Minute Radio Theatre features new (and sometimes old) plays written by playwrights of all ages, from Mendocino county and beyond. Talk on Inuit art with Leslie Saxon West
Leslie Saxon West, retired Professor Emeritus of Native American Art at Mendocino College, presents a livestreaming talk and visual presentation on Inuit art as expressed through printmaking on Thursday, Oct, 15, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. This illuminating talk will discuss how and why Inuit printmaking started and highlight the artists behind it. Mendocino Land Trust Wild & Scenic Film Festival
The Mendocino Land Trust is proud to again host the Wild & Scenic Film Festival on Friday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. The festival, now in its 18th year, features a collection of films which speak to environmental concerns and celebrate our planet and its natural resources.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, this year’s festival will be entirely virtual, with an online presentation of all films and an interactive chatroom on Oct. 16. All 14 films will also be available to ticket-buyers for online viewing at any time through Oct. 20. For those living near Fort Bragg and Mendocino, there will be a dinner-and-a-movie option that includes two meals prepared by Cucina Verona, a bottle of wine, and admission to the event. https://qudio.com/event/mlt

A new edition of this radio program “For the Love of Reading” airs on the third Thursday of every other month on Mendocino County Public Radio, KZYX&Z. (times and dates may vary). Deep Strings Virtual Recital
Ukiah Community Concert Association presents Deep Strings Virtual Recital featuring two cellists, Stephan Braun and Anne-Christin Schwarz playing a mixture of lyrical pop melodies, jazz improvisations and virtuoso classical cello. To enjoy the concert all you need is a computer (desktop, laptop, iPad, iPhone, Android, or tablet), a reliably strong internet connection, and an email address you will be mailed the Zoom link. After the Oct. 18 release, the entire program will be loaded onto UCCA’s YouTube channel and be available to subscribers and single-event ticket buyers for 30 days. For the ninth year, the Artists Co-op of Mendocino has collaborated with the Writers of the Mendocino Coast culminating in a variety of exhibitions and presentations. There will be no regular Mendocino Film Festival this year, so they are offering a Virtual Cinema Series with a selection of new, independent documentaries and narratives now extended through the end of the year (Dec. 31, 2020).
