Whispering Manes announced that on Sept. 16 it was named a “2020 Top-Rated Nonprofit” by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews of charities and nonprofits.
Whispering Manes provides therapeutic horseback riding and horsemanship to children and adults with disabilities in Miami-Dade which result in improved physical and mental health of the participants. The powerful bond between humans and horses is truly empowering.
“We are honored to be named a 2020 Top-Rated Nonprofit,” said Samuel Diller, executive director of Whispering Manes. “We are proud of our accomplishments this year. We provided services for 219 individuals, over 800 hours of programming, and 142 volunteers donated 3,257 hours of their time.”
The Top-Rated Nonprofit Award is based on the rating and number of reviews that Whispering Manes received from volunteers, donors and aid recipients.
“Whispering Manes is a beautiful place with wonderful staff and fun activities for my son.
They teach him more than just horsemanship. They build his confidence, teach responsibility, and independence. The physical skills and accomplishments make him so proud of himself as well. We love this place,” said a parent of one of those helped by the equestrian therapy.
“Whispering Manes is a great example of a nonprofit making a real difference in their community,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits. “Their award is well-deserved recognition not only of their work, but the tremendous support they receive, as shown by the many outstanding reviews they have received from people who have direct experience working with Whispering Manes.”
GreatNonprofits is the leading website where people share stories about their personal experiences on more than 1.6 million charities and nonprofits. The GreatNonprofits Top-Rated Awards are the only awards for nonprofits determined by those who have direct experience with the charities — as donors, volunteers and recipients of aid.
